A couple of months ago I spent way too much money on makeup at Nordstrom.com. I had an excuse though! Because, like all shopping addicts, I appreciate a good excuse to spend more money. If you spent $150 you would receive a gift with purchase that included a makeup travel bag filled with beauty related samples. One of the samples included was a product from HUM, a vitamin and supplement brand.
Along with a plethora of perfume samples I got a packet called “Raw Beauty” that was meant to be poured into a shake or drink. Before this sample I hadn’t heard of the brand HUM. However, I decided to give the sample a try, so I mixed it with some coconut milk and guzzled it down. After trying the product, I didn’t think it was half bad. Especially for something that’s supposed to be packed full of good things for you, and the added fact that I despise coconut milk unless mixed in with honey nut cheerios.
I only had one sample, so I can’t speak to the quality of this product particularly, but it did spark my interest of the brand. So, naturally I watched all the youtube reviews I could find, and was sold! After binging on youtube, I headed over to HUM’s site.
How it Works,
Once I got to their site I was directed to take a quiz. The quiz has you fill out a whole bunch of useful information like your eating habits, and concerns you have about your health and appearance. They use the answers you give, to find the best products for you!
After taking my quiz I was recommended the OMG! Omega The Great, Daily Cleanse, and Runway ready. Out of these I ended up choosing OMG!, and made my own choices on b12, and Beauty zzZz. Unfortunately, shortly after the Beauty zzZz arrived I gave it to my fiancé after reading online that melatonin can affect your birth control.
A day after I ordered the products I had complete buyers remorse! I regretted not buying the other two products I was recommended. Honestly, I was mainly distraught because the packaging and names were so cute and enticing, how could you not want them all!? So, I contacted HUM and they were nice enough to send me two products to try for review!
I’m now just 2 or 3 days away of finishing up all my products (minus the melatonin and b12) and I have enjoyed everything I’ve stuck with using! Down below I will list individual reviews for each product I’ve tried! The order will be my favorite to least favorite.
P.S. If you want to sign up for HUM beauty I have a referral code “11D9AD” (which you will also be given when you sign up!) and if you use it you get an additional 10 dollars off your purchase and so do I! They also offer 10 dollars off your first purchase which is combinable with my referral coupon code. That’s 20 off your first purchase!
OMG! Omega The Great
This product was by far my favorite! I have terribly dry skin, to the point where as soon as I get out of the shower I have to moisturize my face or it feels tight and excessively dry. I tried this product with low expectations, but hopeful nonetheless. After using it for a few days I noticed a slight difference in the dryness of my skin. This is by no means a cure-all. I still, and probably always will have dry skin, but it did make my skin feel a little less like the Sahara Desert and got rid of my redness! For that, I am eternally grateful!
Oh! And no fish burps! Rest easy, unlike other omega pills, these didn’t cause any burps or any burps with a bad after taste!
I started Runway Ready about a week after I had started the OMG! This made it hard to notice the effects on my skin since I was already noticing improvements from the omega product I was taking. However, what I did notice was a change in my hair! I didn’t really notice my nails improving like it also claims, but my hair definitely seemed to get shinier and healthier. I had recently gotten my hair bleached, going from dark brown to blonde, so my hair was pretty damaged. While using the Runway Ready, I didn’t do any extra haircare, but over a couple of weeks my hair seemed shinier and more smooth. Which is totally awesome if I may add.
The 21-day daily cleanse is supposed to support healthy digestion and promote a flatter tummy! I was very excited about this product, because I do tend to have digestive issues. However, I didn’t really notice a difference despite having to pee more often.
The 21 day cleanse is also claims to support clear skin by purging out toxins. Once I got to the end of the 21 days, I did get a ton of breakouts on my forehead. However, now that my breakouts have officially cleared up my skin texture is way smoother than it has been in years! No bumps! I can’t really pinpoint if this is due to this product or if it was a facial mask I used. However, I would say it’s worth a try because I’m loving my skin so much right now! I haven’t worn foundation all week long!
This was a hard NO for me! Granted, I wasn’t recommended this product, and I probably should’ve known better. I’m prone to getting anxiety when I drink caffeinated drinks, so taking b12 probably wasn’t the best idea for me. Each time I took this a few hours later I would get anxiety that matches what I get if I drink coffee. Because of this, I only tried it two or three times. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone who is prone to anxiety. If you are anxiety free and need an energy boost however, it’s probably worth a shot!
I didn’t end up taking this product, because I read that melatonin can effect the effectiveness of your birth control. So, I passed it on to my fiancé who uses melatonin nightly. Although, I don’t think he’s gotten around to trying this brand yet, so my review on this product is inconclusive. However, I would be careful if you’re on hormonal birth control!
That’s it beauties! I hope you enjoyed this review, and if you’ve been considering trying out HUM, I hope this article helped you reach a decision! If you do want to make a purchase, my referral code is “11D9AD” for 10 off!
